At the convergence of youthful ambition, technological fluency, and social impact, Collins Kathuli, co-founder and CEO of Kyanda, is reshaping the fintech narrative across Africa. With a foundation in software engineering from KCA University, Collins launched Kyanda in 2020 to break down barriers to accessible financial services.

Guided by the mission of affordability, transparency, and inclusivity, his fintech venture offers an omnichannel payment ecosystem handling utility bill payments, money transfers, airtime top-ups, and more via mobile, USSD, SMS, NFC, and agent networks. Through strategic partnerships with banks, telecoms, and utility firms, Kyanda has processed millions of transactions, serving hundreds of thousands of users and expanding beyond Kenya into South Africa.

Beyond the numbers, Collins is a celebrated young innovator: he earned multiple awards including the Fintech Founder of the Year in East Africa, Best Fintech in Kenya, Africatech’s Fintech Innovator of the Year, the Anzisha Prize (2022), and emerged winner of Kenya’s edition of the 2023–24 Global Student Entrepreneur Awards earning mentorship and national recognition.

From high school inspiration to startup CEO at just 19, Collins continues to lead Kyanda with ingenuity and resilience, challenging the norm, improving lives, and advancing Africa’s digital financial future.
