The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) is stepping up its investment in the future of African football with the launch of the second edition of its prestigious Football Management Executive Programme, in partnership with the University of Cape Town (UCT).

This flagship initiative is part of CAF’s long-term strategy to professionalise football management across the continent by equipping senior executives from Member Associations with world-class leadership and governance skills. The programme is designed to build a cadre of forward-thinking administrators capable of navigating the complex demands of modern football.

With the strong backing of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, the initiative aligns with the organisation’s broader mission to make African football globally competitive, financially viable, and sustainably governed.

Participants in this second cohort include high-performing professionals from a diverse mix of CAF Member Associations, reflecting a commitment to inclusion and excellence. They will undergo an intensive, hybrid training schedule covering strategic leadership, financial management, stakeholder relations, commercial growth, and organisational development.

As part of the hands-on learning journey, participants will gather at CAF headquarters in Cairo and also attend one of Africa’s flagship football events in a host city yet to be revealed. The programme will conclude with a graduation ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, in early 2026.

By blending academic rigour with practical exposure, CAF and UCT are nurturing a new generation of football leaders who will drive institutional reform and innovation across Africa’s football ecosystem.
