As the Co-Founder and CEO of ThriveAgric, Uka Eje is transforming Africa’s agricultural landscape by bridging the gap between smallholder farmers and the resources they need to thrive. From the heart of Nigeria’s “food basket” in Benue State, where he grew up witnessing the struggles of rural farmers, Uka’s journey has been fueled by a deep understanding of the sector’s challenges and an unwavering commitment to creating sustainable solutions.

With a background in Biochemistry from Covenant University and early experience at Royal Impact Corp, Uka co-founded ThriveAgric in 2017 with the mission to unlock agricultural potential through technology, finance, and market access. The company’s Agricultural Operating System (AOS) equips farmers with tailored advisory services, data-driven insights, and transparent access to premium markets, while its financing model enables farmers to secure inputs and tools without the burden of upfront costs.

Under Uka’s leadership, ThriveAgric has empowered over 500,000 farmers across Nigeria and expanded into other African markets, facilitating more than $100 million in agricultural financing and producing over 1.5 million metric tonnes of grains. Beyond boosting productivity, the company is pioneering climate-smart farming initiatives, including an innovative carbon credit program that allows farmers to earn additional income through agroforestry and sustainable land practices.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ThriveAgric’s resilience and innovation ensured uninterrupted support to farmers and food supply chains, strengthening its role as a trusted partner in food security. Uka’s vision extends beyond immediate impact, he sees a future where African farmers are central to feeding both the continent and the world, using homegrown technology to solve global food challenges.

Recognized on the TIME100 Climate List, Forbes Africa 30 Under 30, and Africa’s 40 Under 40 Business Icons, Uka Eje stands as a testament to how visionary leadership and grassroots commitment can transform industries. Through ThriveAgric, he is not only revolutionizing farming but also rewriting the narrative of African agriculture as a driver of prosperity, sustainability, and innovation.
