The United Arab Emirates has awarded Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan the esteemed Mother of the Nation Order, recognizing her significant contributions to sustainable prosperity and social cohesion. The honor was presented by UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during an official visit to Tanzania, underscoring the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

The ceremony took place amid discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in critical sectors such as trade, investment, and development. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive sustainable development and mutual prosperity, according to a statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Several agreements were signed, including a mutual administrative cooperation agreement on customs, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for mining sector investment, and an MoU to establish a bilateral business council, as reported by Tanzania’s State House.

The visit highlights the strengthening UAE-Tanzania relationship, with bilateral trade and investment gaining momentum. The agreements aim to facilitate economic growth and collaboration, aligning with both nations’ development goals. President Hassan expressed gratitude for the honor and reaffirmed Tanzania’s dedication to deepening ties with the UAE, per local media reports. This milestone reflects a shared vision for prosperity and sustainable progress.
