In a bold move to bring innovation closer to Morocco’s heartland, the city of Khémisset is stepping into the national spotlight with the launch of its first-ever Technopark, a MAD 15.2 million investment poised to transform the local entrepreneurial landscape.

Breaking ground on Thursday, the new tech incubator is set to become a game-changer for the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. Top officials, including Abdellatif Ennahli, Governor of Khémisset Province, and Rachid El Abdi, President of the Regional Council, led the inauguration of the project, which promises to fuel the dreams of young innovators outside the country’s traditional tech hubs.

Slated for completion within ten months, the Technopark will cover 2,027 square meters and feature 34 startup offices, coworking zones, a modern meeting room, and service areas all designed to accommodate up to 58 startups in a dynamic, collaborative ecosystem.

But beyond the bricks and mortar, this initiative is part of a deeper mission: decentralizing innovation and giving Morocco’s youth a powerful platform to thrive. “This Technopark is more than a building; it’s a launchpad for bold ideas and local talent,” said Lamia Benabdillah, Director of the Regional Project Implementation Agency (AREP). She emphasized its role in guiding young entrepreneurs from concept to market success.

The project aligns with Morocco’s 2022–2027 Regional Development Program and is backed by a strategic agreement to roll out similar tech spaces across the country. It represents a key piece of Morocco’s national vision to equip young people with 21st-century skills and foster economic inclusion through entrepreneurship and innovation.

By planting the seeds of tech in Khémisset, Morocco is not just investing in infrastructure it’s investing in a future where innovation knows no boundaries.
