Nigeria's D’Tigers have seen their run at the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket Championship come to an end, following a 91-75 quarter-final loss to Senegal in Angola.

Despite their impressive performance in the group stage, where they topped Group B with three consecutive wins, the D’Tigers were unable to overcome a strong Senegalese side.

Senegal's Jean-Jacques Boissy and Brancou Badio proved to be a formidable duo, combining for 51 points to lead their team to victory. Nigeria's Ike Nwamu and Stan Okoye put up a valiant effort, scoring 15 and 14 points respectively, but it was not enough to close the gap.

The loss marks the end of Nigeria's campaign at AfroBasket, but their attention will now shift to the FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Series, which begins in November. The D’Tigers will be looking to bounce back from this disappointment and secure a spot at the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Qatar.
