Morocco claims the coveted “Best Nation’s Trophy” for 2025 African Tennis Championship
For the seventh year running, Morocco has served up a winning streak in African tennis, claiming the coveted “Best Nation’s Trophy” for 2025, solidifying its reign as the continent’s tennis powerhouse.
The Confederation of African Tennis announced the honor, highlighting Morocco’s unmatched consistency and rising talent across all junior categories. From Under-14 to Under-18, Moroccan players have dominated the court, collecting victories and ranking points that pushed them to the top of the leaderboard.
“For the 7th consecutive year, Morocco takes home the Best Nation’s Trophy, thanks to their top performances across all age categories at the African Junior Championships,” the Confederation stated in an official release. The country also gained critical momentum from the Under-14 African Championship held in late 2024.
In a letter dated Wednesday, Jean Claude Talon, President of the African Tennis Confederation, personally informed Fayçal Laraichi, President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, of the prestigious award.
The official trophy presentation will take place during the closing ceremony of the African Team Championship for the Under-14 category, scheduled from May 5 to 10 in Cairo, Egypt.
Trailing Morocco in the rankings are Tunisia and Egypt, taking second and third place respectively. “Well done to the Royal Moroccan Federation of Tennis and to all the nations for their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the year!” the Confederation concluded.
Morocco’s continued dominance reflects not just talent, but a well-structured development system and a generation of young athletes hungry for international success. With this seventh title, Morocco doesn’t just lead African tennis it defines it.
