Mastercard has announced a strategic partnership with PayTabs Group to introduce advanced digital payment solutions tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt. This collaboration leverages Mastercard's extensive global network and digital payment expertise, enabling PayTabs to offer a white-labeled digital payments platform designed to enhance payment acceptance capabilities among SMEs.

The initiative focuses on promoting contactless payment adoption and accelerating Egypt's digital transformation efforts. The platform will provide SMEs with fast, secure, and cost-effective solutions for accepting digital payments, including the ability to generate payment links swiftly, thereby reducing the time and effort associated with traditional payment methods. Additionally, mobile users will benefit from quick and secure payment completion, enhancing overall transaction efficiency.

By facilitating these digital payment solutions, the partnership aims to improve cash flow management for SMEs and reduce reliance on cash transactions. This effort aligns with Egypt's broader goal of transitioning to a cashless society and integrating more businesses and consumers into the formal financial system.

Karim Eyada, General Manager of PayTabs Egypt, emphasized that the platform supports Egypt's shift towards a cashless society and enhances access to digital payments, thereby empowering SMEs to thrive in the digital economy. Mohamed Assem, Country Manager for Mastercard in Egypt, Lebanon, and Iraq, highlighted the importance of collaboration in building robust infrastructures that benefit both businesses and consumers, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future for Egypt.

This partnership builds upon Mastercard's ongoing efforts to support SME growth in Egypt. According to the Mastercard SME Confidence Index released in February 2025, 85% of SMEs in Egypt now accept digital payments, reflecting a significant shift towards cashless transactions aimed at improving security and operational efficiency. The report also indicates that SMEs are proactively investing in digital solutions to manage rising costs and drive growth.

Furthermore, PayTabs Group has recently strengthened its commitment to Egypt's digital payments ecosystem by acquiring full ownership of PayTabs Egypt. This strategic move enables PayTabs to offer more tailored solutions to Egyptian merchants, fostering financial inclusion and expanding its regional footprint.

Founded in 2014, PayTabs is a fintech services provider offering secure B2B e-commerce solutions across the MENA region. This collaboration with Mastercard marks a significant step towards empowering Egyptian SMEs with the digital tools necessary to succeed in an increasingly digital economy.
