Ecobank, the leading private pan-African financial services group, has been named Best Bank in Africa 2025 in Global Finance’s World’s Best Banks 2025 Awards. Ecobank Gambia and Ecobank Togo were also honored as the Best Banks in their respective countries, underscoring the group’s regional dominance. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on October 18, 2025, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings.

Global Finance’s selection process evaluated banks on criteria such as asset growth, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, and product innovation. The judging panel consulted equity analysts, banking consultants, and corporate financial executives to identify institutions that excel in meeting customer needs and driving future success in challenging markets.

Jeremy Awori, CEO of Ecobank Group, emphasized the bank’s commitment to intra-African trade and digital innovation. “These awards reflect our customer-centric approach and the strength of our comprehensive financial solutions,” Awori said. He highlighted Ecobank’s focus on leveraging technology and partnerships to enhance its digital payments platform, positioning it as Africa’s trade bank of choice. With operations across 35 African countries and global offices in the UK, France, UAE, and China, Ecobank serves over 32 million customers, offering services like trade finance, cash management, and investment banking.

This recognition follows Ecobank’s recent accolade as the Best Trade Finance Provider Bank in Africa at the Global Finance Trade Finance & Supply Chain Finance Awards 2025. The awards affirm Ecobank’s strategic vision and its role in fostering economic growth across the continent.
