ONMT UNVEILS BOLD RESTRUCTURE TO SUPERCHARGE MOROCCO’S TOURISM BOOM
A major part of this investment includes the transformation of six cities set to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with half a billion euros allocated to each.
In a powerful move to cement Morocco’s rising star on the global tourism stage, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced today a sweeping structural reorganization aimed at turbocharging the country’s tourism growth and global appeal.
The revamped strategy introduces three new key divisions Commercial, Marketing, and Resource Support with a sharp focus on greater efficiency, synergy, and market responsiveness.
“With efficiency as our objective, this new organization is designed to strengthen our actions and better respond to the expectations of the global tourism market,” said ONMT Director General Achraf Fayda.
He emphasized that the new structure would streamline internal processes, sharpen departmental roles, and maximize the office’s expertise to tackle the fast-evolving demands of the global tourism industry.
The reorganization comes as Morocco rides an unprecedented wave of success in tourism. In 2024 alone, the country welcomed over 17 million tourists, smashing the 2026 goal two years ahead of schedule. Building on this momentum, Morocco has set its sights even higher, aiming to attract at least 26 million visitors by 2030.
Fueling this ambitious vision, the Moroccan government has pledged over one billion euros in public investments for the sector over the next decade, with substantial additional funding from the private sector. A major part of this investment includes the transformation of six cities set to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with half a billion euros allocated to each.
The ONMT’s latest restructuring is not just about internal reorganization it’s a clear statement that Morocco is ready to compete harder, shine brighter, and welcome the world with open arms.
