Morocco has taken a decisive step toward energy sovereignty with the official accreditation of INEE (Ingénierie Nationale de l’Efficacité Énergétique), the first company to be certified under the new regulatory framework for energy efficiency services.

INEE, a subsidiary of CDG Développement, becomes the country’s first officially recognized Energy Services Company (ESCO), marking a pivotal moment in Morocco’s green transition strategy. This milestone follows the enactment of Implementing Decree No. 2-24-153 under Law No. 47-09, which governs energy efficiency across the kingdom.

The company is now poised to lead the charge in rolling out Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs), a transformative model that links compensation directly to measurable energy savings. These contracts are designed to help public and private organizations significantly lower their energy consumption, cut operational costs, and meet ambitious decarbonisation targets.

More than just a service provider, INEE offers end-to-end project management, including energy audits, engineering, financing, change management, and real-time monitoring. This integrated approach ensures that clients receive tailored, performance-driven solutions that align with Morocco’s broader environmental and economic goals.

INEE’s accreditation comes at a time when Morocco is accelerating its commitment to building a resilient, self-sufficient energy sector. The firm aims to implement EPCs across a wide range of industries, from logistics and manufacturing to agriculture, smart cities, and commercial infrastructure.

By enabling sustainable energy use and reducing reliance on imports, this initiative strengthens the foundation for a robust, sovereign energy future, one powered by Moroccan expertise and innovation.
