Netflix’s first original Nigerian series ‘Blood Sisters’ is getting a sequel.
The first season released by Netflix in collaboration with Ebonylife TV owned by Mo Abudu received critical acclaim from viewers when it hit the screens on the 5th of May, 2024.
In its first season, ‘Blood Sisters’ tells the story of two best friends, Sarah and Kemi, who accidentally murdered Kola, Sarah’s fiancé. In an attempt to escape the Law and the ruthlessness of the victim’s family, they became fugitives.
‘Blood Sisters’ topped the chart on Netflix, ranking top 10 at the time of its release owing largely to the stellar performance of its cast. The movie featured excellent actors to play the lively characters portrayed in it. Amongst these are Nancy lsime, Ini Dima Okojie, Ramsey Noah, Kate Henshaw, Wale Ojo, Gabriel Afolayan, Kehinde Bankole, Tope Tedele, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Genevouva Umeh.
The plot of the first season revolved around the struggle against gender and intimate relationship violence as seen between Kola and Sarah.
Now, the sequel is on. Mo Abudu announced on social media that the second season promises twists and turns for viewers. Other cast members and characters have also taken to their handles to share pictures and videos from the set to build anticipation ahead of the promotion and release of the second season.
Although the plot is yet to be known, the second season promises to be exciting judging from the additional cast joining the team. So far, additions to the cast include Ifeanyi Kalu, Michelle Dede, Ben Touitou, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Anita Osuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Bolaji Ogunmola, Fadekemi Olumide and Mike Afolarin whose roles are yet to be disclosed.
