RISE ABOVE THE PAIN: SIX MASCULINE WAYS YOU CAN OVERCOME HEARTBREAK

One of the most excruciating experiences a man can go through in his lifetime is being heartbroken by the woman he loves wholeheartedly.
Research by the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs (JSAD) published that men are more likely to engage in substance abuse after a breakup, with 12% reporting increased alcohol consumption.
The prevalence of heartbreak-related issues in today’s society is alarming. Most men who go through heartbreak end up depressed and frustrated; some suffer anxiety and stress, while others become suicidal. The pain of being heartbroken by a woman can also lead men to adopt unhealthy habits, such as smoking and drinking alcohol to escape their emotional pain.
However, there is hope for healing. Here are six masculine ways to deal with heartbreak:

1. Accept the Current Reality
Accepting the current reality means giving yourself permission to grieve. It’s okay to cry and feel the pain, sadness, depression, and frustration. Permitting yourself to grieve makes room psychologically for new possibilities. It’s also the best way to process your feelings.

2. Talk to Your Friends and Family
Sharing your heartbreak experience with close friends or relatives can be therapeutic for your mental health. They can offer emotional support and valuable advice to help you cope.

3. Delete Every Form of Attachment
Clearing your head requires avoiding any reminders of your ex. Delete her number, block her on social media, and get rid of her pictures. These reminders can hinder your healing process and make it harder to move on.

4. Engage in New Activities
Finding a new hobby or activity can be a game-changer. Engage in something that replaces thoughts of your ex, such as learning a new skill, making new friends, or going on a vacation.

5. Focus on Self-Development
Channel your pain into self-improvement. Use this experience as motivation to learn, grow, and transform into a better version of yourself.

6. Seek Professional Help
If your heartbreak is becoming overwhelming, consider seeking help from a relationship therapist. They can guide you through the healing process and help you navigate your emotions.

Remember, heartbreak can be a traumatic experience, but it can also be a turning point. With the right mindset and support, you can transform your pain into growth and emerge stronger on the other side.
