Nigeria’s representative, Chidinma Vanessa onwe Adetshina, has made history as she emerges first runner up at the Miss Universe contest in México.

The competition’s officials via instagram described her and the crowned Miss Universe, Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theivling, as two incredible women. Their strength, resilience, and charisma can not be over emphasized.

Prior to the Miss Universe contest, Chidinma had history withdrawing from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest as a result of trolls questioning her identity and participation.

Chidinma’s feat echoes the victory of Agbani Darego as Miss World in 2001. Nigeria now has a relatable history and story to share in recent times
